Bishop
Cummins established the Regina Mundi Society of the Bishop's
Appeal in 1995 as a vehicle to recognize and encourage leadership
in support of our diocesan ministries.
Named
for Our Lady, Queen of the World, primary patroness of our Diocese,
the Society sets an example of service and generosity for people
throughout Alameda and Contra Costa Counties.
Members pledge to donate between $1,000 and $100,000 a year
to the Bishop's Appeal. As leaders of the Bishop's Appeal, members
of the Regina Mundi Society foster the many worthwhile programs
of our Diocese. The Society asks a high degree of commitment
from its members, as together we serve the larger family that
is Church.
Currently, the Regina Mundi Society has 592 members, including 53 new couples and individuals who joined this year. This group contributed more than $500,000 to the 2007 Bishop's Appeal - 27% of our total!

How to Join the Regina Mundi Society of the Bishop's Appeal
If you are supporting Diocesan programs directly rather than through the Bishop's Appeal, for example Saint Joseph's Center for the Deaf, SPRED, Respect Life, or others, your donations may qualify for membership in the Regina Mundi Society. For further information about giving opportunities to benefit the Diocese of Oakland please contact John Neudecker. |
